A reflection on the Spring 2015 Board of Directors

As General Manager, it is always one of my favorite tasks to hire the next incoming Board of Directors, which serves as the governing body for all of D3TV. We have had such a successful semester producing events such as The Despy’s, creating a new website, expanding our social media platforms and having six new programs in addition to The Source and Tiger Sports Nation.
I want to highlight a department that went above and beyond this past semester. This department not only pushed the rebranding of the station that started a year ago, but made D3TV popular and recognizable all over campus. It is comprised of five sophomore ladies who not only did their job, but also exceeded all expectations.
Our Marketing Director, Simone Deighan ’17, created a new logo for us and developed our volunteer program to increase D3TV participation. We had also had an amazing Assistant Director of Marketing, Clayre Sorenson ’17, who researched new promotional items such as D3TV face tattoos for football tailgates. Carsen Trinkino ’17, served as our Associate Director of Marketing and will continue on as our Assistant Director of Marketing in the fall!
The final aspect of our marketing department is our public relations and publicity branch. C Thambundit ’17 served as The Assistant Director of PR with her third semester on the Board of Directors. C controls all of our social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. She increased our like counts and followers through social media contests on campus! The Associate Director of PR was Maggie Lomasney ’17 who is a Kinesiology major on campus that chose D3TV as an additional extra curricular activity. She had never done PR or publicity before, but learned quickly through hands on, practical experience.
A huge thank you to our fabulous marketing department. I can’t wait to see what’s in store next fall!
